Celebrating

Joana & Cristian

15 August 2027 · Quinta da Eira

It started at Es Vedrà

How we got here

It started at Es Vedrà

He asked at golden hour above the sea at Es Vedrà, and she said yes. But it began years before, in Crieff: a Spaniard and a Portuguesa who found each other far from home and never let go. Through Ennis and Barcelona, the pandemic back in Sax and a year beside the Atlantic in Esmoriz, home always drew us back, and now to Sabadell. Our Darko was on every adventure, and stays forever in our hearts.

While you’re here

A Portuguese wedding

01

The copo de água

The reception after the ceremony: a long, generous banquet where we’ll come table to table to greet you. It keeps its own slow clock, often into the small hours.

02

The vira

A spinning northern folk dance to accordion and drum. When it starts, say yes: arms up, no experience required.

03

Amêndoas

Sugared almonds, five to a pouch: one each for love, health, happiness, fertility and a long life together.

04

The midnight feast

Just as the dancing flags, a late-night ceia appears: bifanas and caldo verde to carry the party on toward dawn.

Stay a while

Where to stay

~30 min from Porto (OPO); direct flights from Alicante, Madrid & Barcelona. A car makes everything easier.

On-site

Hotel da Eira

Sleep where you celebrate: the estate’s own rooms among the vines. Booked directly with the venue, and they fill first.

Country house · 15 min to the venue

Solar Egas Moniz

A 19th-century manor house (solar) in Paço de Sousa, with gardens and a pool. Booked as a whole house (not by the room), so it’s ideal for a group of family or friends sharing.

Rural hotel · 20 min to the venue

Quinta das Quintães

A small rural hotel (Hotel Rural) in Valpedre, with a pool and restaurant.

In the city · 35 min to the venue

Porto
