15 August 2027 · Quinta da Eira

We are getting married

Two shores, one sky

From the Mediterranean warmth of Sax to the riverside of Porto, our families come together for one unforgettable day. We would be honoured to have you with us.

Chapter I

It all began in Crieff, in the Scottish Highlands. He was from Spain, she was from Portugal, both far from home. They met by chance and, from that day on, never let each other go.

Chapter II

From Crieff in Scotland, where we met, to Ennis in Ireland, and then the years when Barcelona became our home. Back to Sax, in the hush of the pandemic, and on to Esmoriz, where we lived for a year beside the Atlantic, with Barcelona always calling us back. Until we reached Sabadell, where we finally found our place. Through every move, our Darko was on every adventure. Our boy, and forever in our hearts.

Chapter III

The question

Then, at golden hour above the sea in Ibiza, came the question, and a joyful yes. Now, surrounded by the people we love most, we’re ready to say it again, out loud, with all of you.

Chapter IV

The next chapter is written in Penafiel, between the Mosteiro de Bustelo and the vines of Quinta da Eira, on 15 August 2027. And it begins with you.

Save the date

The plan

  1. 15:00
    Ceremony

We’ll say “I do” at the Mosteiro de Bustelo, a historic monastery. Please arrive a little early so we can begin on time.

  2. 17:30
    Reception

After the ceremony, join us at Quinta da Eira to raise a glass together and get the celebration started, with drinks and nibbles.

  3. 20:00
    Dinner

An Iberian dinner to be savoured slowly, around the table and in good company. Come hungry.

  4. 23:00
    Party

Music and dancing late into the night, until around 4am.

And we dance until the sky turns

Stay a while

Everything is close together here. Quinta da Eira sits in the green Sousa Valley — about 12 minutes from Penafiel and 35 from Porto — so wherever you sleep, a car makes the day easier. At the estate itself there are bunk beds and hotel rooms, which we allocate ourselves. If you would rather find a place of your own, the two areas below are where to look.

  • Up to 3 people per room

Other options near the estate

Two areas, not a shortlist of hotels. Pick whichever suits your trip and book the place you like in it. Mid-August is peak season here, so book 6–9 months ahead.

In nature

Penafiel · Vale do Sousa

Villages, quintas and small rural hotels spread through the valley around the venue. Quiet, green, and the shortest drive home at the end of the night — a car is essential out here.

Good to know

What time should I really arrive?

Please arrive at the Mosteiro de Bustelo by 14:40, about 20 minutes before the ceremony starts at 15:00.

What’s the dress code?

Formal / cocktail. Just one small request, please avoid white. That’s reserved for the bride (though don’t be too surprised if the groom turns up in white too 😄). It’s a warm mid-August celebration, partly outdoors, so dress for a hot day and a cooler night.

Can I bring my children?

We love your little ones! Please let us know in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Is there transport between venues?

Yes, there will be transport for anyone who needs it. The ceremony is at the Mosteiro de Bustelo and the celebration continues nearby, at Quinta da Eira. We’ll share transport and parking details closer to the date.

Which language will the ceremony be in?

A warm mix of Spanish and Portuguese, with plenty of love that needs no translation.

Is there anything the day after?

The day after, there will be a relaxed brunch at Quinta da Eira itself, open until 5pm with access to the pool, for 35 € per adult. It needs to be booked in advance. It’s the perfect way to end the weekend without rushing. Just let us know in your RSVP whether you’d like to join, and we’ll sort out the rest with you.

Can I get my hair and make-up done there?

Yes. On the wedding day you can have your hair and make-up done at Quinta da Eira. Each service costs 40 € per person, paid directly to the stylist. To book, just choose it in the RSVP form.
